As a big NBA fan, and as an american it is my duty to make predictions for these playoffs, which frankly so far is the best first round i have seen in my lifetime.

The Lake Show - Kobe and Crew take down the Young Jazz in 5
Rockets Red Glare - Artest Proves a vital addition and the Rockets win in the first round....finally (T-Mac less) proving too much for the uber-talented blazers who if they stay together are trouble for years to come
Same old Spurs - The spurs prove fundamentally sound as always and take down the directionless mavericks, remember when they weren't a joke?
Denver Defense??!!? - I must admit this pick is late and I might have gone towards CP3 but after seeing Chauncey take over and dominate these last two games, and transform this team into a title contender is amazing this goes to show you just what the pistons are missing and how the trade worked out for them
King James - Lebron eats Children - not wheaties, and takes no prisoners in this embarrassment of a sweep of a team that had to have AI, he is really pulling through for them right now...
Hawks take off - This is what the hawks will need to give there young stars playoff experience and confidence, Dwayne Wade will put up a helluva fight and probably take it to 7, but the hawks are just too deep and too talented
Magic Act - The magic deal with a driven philly team , but size and talent win in the end of this one, Orlando takes the series
Celts Survive - The Celtics go to 7 with a talented young bulls team, both teams are missing a vital player, deng on the bulls and KG on the celts, the celts are too talented and too experienced for the bulls, derrick rose starts drinking juicy juice and runs for president once the series is over - KG less celts lose in second round to orlando no questions asked
For those of you who follow this fabulous site that the men of hugenot put together, let me the guy from florida put in some perspective of the highly intoxicated mikey 5 on his playoff predictions. now let me say first that i agree with some of the picks that mr 5 has made but some of them are a bit too too much. first for the rockets and blazers yes i agree that the 8 foot giant yao and the always volital ron artest will send the young guns of portland home early to re-focus and go into next year to de-throne the "lakeshow" as the dominant team of the west with the leadership of brandon roy and company.
ReplyDelete. and yes mikes boy from last year kobe will get this warm up series with utah in and out in roughly 5 games unless okur puts a band aid on and then i could see this game going 6. now as much as i hate to say this becuase i would love nothing more than cp3 and his crew belittle kobe and the chokers in the western finals but carmelo and billups are just too much for the thin hornets, maybe next year guys. now where we disagree. i can finally say this with a little bit of arrogance as my favorite player in the nba tim duncan will finally be able to take a long summer vacation in the virgin islands as dirk, kidd and the rest of the mavericks prove to be too much for the manu-less spurs and move on in 6 games.
ReplyDeletenow for the east, orlando will finally realize that big men win championships(they should look up there former player shaq for refernce) and dump the ball into superman dwight howard and roll through the 76ers. the best player in the league by far the 6'8 270 pound man child we all call lebron will just feast on the over the hill pistons in a clean sweep. now we all know that lebron will win the mvp this year but the true mvp is the guy from miami number 3 dwayne wade will lead his young team past the flashy hawks in a fun filled 7 games series to move onto round 2 as wade shows again this year that he is the real deal and is one of the best 3 players in the game today. now mike we all know about derrick rose and his new rookie of the year trophy, but this kid is still too young to party with the grown ups as his fake id he showed in game one has been revoked as the reigning champs roll through the "baby bulls" in about 6 games.
ReplyDeleteI find it unusual that anyone would make a prediction post 2 games into the round. Weird. What's next are you going to take the Rangers when they are already up 3-1 in the series??? This is just another example of why Droge is the only writer worth reading on this blog... although I did like your cougar of the week assessment.
